lidingWhy do professionals choose LIDING flange machines?
1. Many ductwork manufacturers do not receive orders for a single flange cross-section size. Today’s order might require a 20 mm flange height, whilst next week’s might require a 30 mm flange height. If a dedicated machine were to be purchased for each flange cross-section size, the return on investment would take too long. However, having only a single-specification machine would make it impossible to respond flexibly to changes in orders.
2. The PDF3 Dual-Spec is designed precisely for this purpose. One machine, two flange specifications, sharing the same body, each operating independently.
3. Unlike a duplex machine, this unit does not form the same specification on both sides simultaneously; instead, the left and right sides correspond to two different flange specifications respectively:
Left side: PDF20 flange specification — suitable for 0.6–0.8 mm GI galvanised steel sheet, flange height 20 mm
Right side: PDF30 flange specification – suitable for 0.8–1.0 mm GI galvanised steel sheet, with a flange height of 30 mm
4. Two independent sets of 36 Cr12MOV rollers are mounted on the same frame, sharing side plates, motors and the drive system. During production, simply select the corresponding side for feeding according to the flange cross-sectional dimensions required by the order. Changing specifications requires no dismantling or refitting of dies, nor any re-tooling; it merely involves switching the feed position.

36-station Cr12MOV rollers, offering precision on a par with duplex machines
-
Each side features 36 sets of precision rollers, made from Cr12MOV die steel heat-treated to HRC 57°–62°. The roller configuration is identical to that of the PDF3 single-specification dedicated duplex machine. The sheet metal is formed through gradual bending, ensuring thorough stress relief; the resulting flanges are full-bodied, crack-free and burr-free. Both sides share the same frame reference, ensuring the same level of precision for both specifications. The formed flanges fit the angle brackets perfectly, eliminating the need for on-site adjustment.
-
Mechanical switching, no mould change required
-
The left-hand side is fitted with PDF20 rollers (0.6–0.8 mm), whilst the right-hand side is fitted with PDF30 rollers (0.8–1.0 mm). To switch between specifications, simply move the feed from one side of the machine to the guide mechanism on the other side. There is no need to remove or install any rollers, nor to reset clearance parameters; the entire switching process takes no time at all and does not require technical personnel. Each set of rollers is fixed in a specific arrangement corresponding to its specification.
-
Built like a tank for nonstop daily use
-
This machine is overbuilt to handle 8-hour nonstop production. The 40mm thick solid side plates and heavy-duty frame eliminate vibration and shaking. The 45# steel quenched spindles and high-quality bearings run smooth and quiet, with minimal maintenance required.
-
One machine, two specifications; costs halved
-
Two sets of rollers share a single frame, a single set of side panels, a single motor and a single drive system. A single machine’s footprint covers the production requirements for two flange specifications. Compared to purchasing two separate single-specification machines, capital expenditure is reduced by 40 per cent, routine maintenance is halved, and the number of operators is reduced from two to one. The savings in money, manpower and space translate directly into profit margins.
-
Standard Production Process
-
Galvanized Steel Coil Loading → Automatic Feeding Feeding → levelling → Beading → Angle punching (square) → Shearing → Entering the PDF flange forming → bending.
